Charles R. Schreck

Dec 13, 1931 — Oct 16, 2016

Charles Robert Schreck would like everyone to know that his work here is done. His beloved Jesus came to him on October 16, 2016 and gave him an offer he couldn't refuse. Jesus said, "Charles, I need a gentle, kind heart to help me. I also need someone strong. Not only strong physically but strong in faith, character and conviction. I need someone who is respectful, fair, loyal and compassionate. I need someone tolerant and patient. I choose you to be my humble servant to help me make what is wrong right, make what is unfair, fair and to deliver kindness and love that this world seems to need more of." Charles was honored to be of service to his Lord who he has honored and trusted his whole life. He bids a "so long until we meet again" to: Eleanor May Haarr his cherished wife for 56 years. His children Rodney Hoch Schreck and Karoline Evelyn Genung who he loved unconditionally with all his heart. His beloved grandchildren, Jacqueline and Stephen Genung who brought him a tremendous amount of happiness, pride and joy. His sister Helene Fordham and his nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his mother, Kathryn May Hoch, Father, Charles Schreck and sister Dorothy Welsch. Charles and his family want to thank the compassionate angels on earth who made him comfortable this past year especially Mercedes Montero-Schneeberger and everyone at Vitas Healthcare. Charles was born in Richmond Hill New York in 1931. He moved to Miami in 1945. He graduated from Edison High School. He enlisted in the Marines and served during the Korean War. He retired after 35 years of loyal service with the United States Post office. He spent his retirement years playing Bridge as a member of the Miami Lakes Bridge club. He also traveled to spend valuable time with his beautiful grandchildren. Please join us on Saturday, November 5, 2016 to celebrate Charles' life.
