Celia “Chela” Zaremba Obituary
Celia del Valle Berdeal de Zaremba, lovingly known by everyone as Chela, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 21, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love and memories of the family she helped build. She had recently celebrated her birthday with her family on June 9.
Chela was the true matriarch of the Zaremba family — strong-willed, determined, passionate, and never one to suffer fools. Those who knew her will always remember her strength, honesty, and unmistakable personality.
Born with a love for creativity and culture, Chela lived a remarkable life filled with unforgettable chapters. She met her future husband while he was visiting her hometown with his band, and their connection led her at just 19 years old to move to Buenos Aires, where she began a new life as the wife of a successful musician. Their story was filled with music, art, late nights, and experiences that felt like something from a film.
Together, Chela and her husband created the Zaremba family. After moving to South Florida in 1964, Chela embraced a new country and a new life, facing every challenge with resilience. Throughout the years, she explored many paths, including teaching, cosmetology, sales, and other careers where she brought her dedication and passion.
Chela and her husband raised their children, Fernando (Dfernando) Zaremba and Monica Zaremba-Gonzalez, with an appreciation for the arts and culture that remained a lifelong influence. Their home was filled with music, films, performances, and creativity — a legacy that continues through their family.
After the passing of her husband in 2005, Chela faced another difficult chapter with the same strength and determination that defined her life. She continued forward, enjoying her family and taking comfort in knowing she would one day reunite with him.
Chela is survived by her children Fernando (Dfernando) Zaremba and Monica Zaremba-Gonzalez, her son-in-law Bernardo Gonzalez, her sister Mercedes Berdeal, her grandchildren Natalie and Bernie Jr. (Baby Bernie), their spouses Renato and Sheila, and her great-grandchildren Samantha, Liam, Jacob, and Sophia.
What began as a small family of four grew into a lasting legacy — one that will continue for generations.
