Blanca Diaz Mauro, 94, passed away peacefully in her home on November 14, 2025, in Hialeah, Florida. Born on January 13, 1931, in Pinar del Río, Cuba, Blanca lived a long and beautiful life—one defined by resilience, quiet courage, and an endless devotion to the family she cherished.

After immigrating to the United States, Blanca worked for many years as a sample dressmaker in NYC, pouring her creativity and skill into a craft she loved. She later retired to help raise her grandchildren, a role that brought her some of her happiest moments. True to her determined spirit, she eventually returned to work and proudly served the City of Hialeah as a school crossing guard until the remarkable age of 90. She took great pride in keeping children safe and felt deeply connected to the community she served.

Blanca is survived by her two children, Victor and his wife, Heidi, and Elizabeth and her husband, Jorge. She leaves behind five grandchildren—Raul, Kathleen, Jaqueline and her husband, Andres, Kelly and her husband, Joseph, and Nikolai—as well as four great-grandchildren. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Blanca's life was a testament to perseverance and faith, shaped by the sacrifices she made in the hope of creating a better life for those she loved. Though she faced many hardships, her capacity for love, generosity, and forgiveness always shone brightest. She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her unwavering devotion to family, and, of course, her incredible cooking.

Blanca found joy in so many things: cooking meals for her family, sewing with care, traveling abroad to visit loved ones, attending shows and the ballet, and listening to music. She enjoyed visits to the casino, pampering herself at the beauty salon, and keeping her hair and nails perfectly done. She took pride in dressing elegantly, loved to shop, and looked forward to Thanksgiving every year—her favorite holiday, which was filled with family, food, and gratitude.

Blanca's presence touched everyone who knew her. Her memory will live on in the traditions she created, the love she gave so freely, and the legacy of strength and grace she leaves behind.
