Bernadette 'Man Po' Rodrigue Orange passed away January 26, 2025, at the age of 71. She battled many health issues, but that never stopped her from being a positive impact on her children and her community. She was born in Haiti, on July 12, 1953, into a family of 10 kids, she was the second oldest child of Sonia St. Louis and Rodrigue Orange. Bernadette truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. She was a beacon of strength, a source of inspiration, and a force in her community.
Her generosity knew no bounds. Many who knew her, know her story, she was not only generous to her family, but also to the stranger on the corner, who needed money, food, or clothes. She faced many obstacles in her lifetime, but she always carried herself with grace and determination and believed that life's challenge are just opportunities in disguise, that God put in our way, to help someone in need.
Our mom showed us what it means to live a life of purpose, to face adversity with courage, and to always, always give back to our community. She raised 4 kids on her own while her then husband was away in another country working. She went from selling goods to owning her own wholesale business without ever having a college degree. At a young age, she learned how to turn a dollar into 100 dollars, she was business savvy.
She will always be an inspiration not just to our family, but to everyone who knew her, on how to preserve, to dream, and to be better, in her own words 'you have only one chance to make an impact, make it count'. Mom, your legacy will live on in the lives you touched, in the changes you made and the inspiration you will continue to be.
Bernadette was a loving mother, grandmother, a great grandmother, and a beautiful soul who would help anyone. Her radiant smile and contagious personality lit up any room she entered. She enjoyed going to church and traveling. She lived life to the fullest by her standards and especially loved spending time with her family and friends, especially, her grandkids.
Although our mom is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her children; Soniel Dieudonne, Rose Dieudonne, Frandy Dieudonne, and Marjorie Cobb. Her grandchildren; Angelita Dieudonne, Francesca Dieudonne, Emmy Dieudonne, Remer Cobb V, Sonia Dieudonne, Ian Cobb and Myles Cobb and her only great grandchild; Ayden Dieudonne-Murcia.
Preceded in death by her parents; Sonia St. Louis and Rodrigue Orange, her brothers; Jean-Claude and Ronald Orange, her sisters; Erna and Lude Orange.
