Antonio E. Lugo (Tony), 78, of Sarasota, FL, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

Tony was born to the late Aida Arminda Angel Bello and Jose Antonio Lugo on October 3, 1947, in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba. He emigrated from Cuba to the United States in 1980 with his wife and two young children, living in Miami until 2008, when he and his wife, Isabel, moved to the Sarasota area to be closer to their children.

Tony worked as a mechanic on industrial and automotive engines throughout his career and earned a Master Mechanic Degree in 1987. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and hunting during his free time. Tony’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, enjoying holiday celebrations, dancing with his adoring wife at family gatherings, and managing the ever-present Cuban pig roasts. Tony was a committed family man whose strength and determination afforded his children the opportunity of a fulfilling life in the United States, which will forever be appreciated.

Tony is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 54 years, Isabel and their children, Jose (Michelle) Lugo and Yamilka (Bill) Stivers. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emma Lugo and Duke Stivers; his siblings, Martha, Belkys, Elba, Thelma, Jesús, and Lily; and many other close relatives and friends who will miss him deeply.

Con profundo dolor y tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Antonio E. Lugo (Tony), el domingo 7 de Junio a la edad de 78 años, rodeado del amor de su familia en Sarasota FL.

Nació el 3 de octubre de 1947 en Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, hijo de Aida Arminda Ángel Bello y José Antonio Lugo, quienes le precedieron en el fallecimiento. Tony emigró de Cuba a los Estados Unidos con su esposa y sus dos hijos pequeños en 1980. Tony y su esposa vivieron en Miami hasta el 2008, cuando decidieron mudarse cerca de sus hijos en el área de Sarasota.
