Obituary

Anthony John Paigo was born on October 23, 1955, in Williamsburg, Virginia, the son of Anthony ("Tony") Paigo and Joan ("Pat") Paigo. He grew up in Hialeah, Florida, attending Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Monsignor Edward Pace Catholic High School, where he graduated in 1974 and embraced his Catholic faith. Anthony was lovingly known to family and friends as TJ and Tony.

Tony attended the University of Florida, where he earned a degree in Business Administration in 1978. While in college, he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and formed many lifelong friendships with his fraternity brothers. During this time, he became involved with Student Government Productions in the lighting and sound department, where he discovered his passion for theater.

His love of theater extended into community productions, and he became a member of the Hialeah Theatre of the Performing Arts, the Miami Lakes Theatre of the Performing Arts, and eventually the Pembroke Pines Theatre of the Performing Arts. Tony enjoyed both performing on stage and working behind the scenes with lighting and sound for numerous plays and musicals. One of his favorite productions was the Passion Play at Saint Bonaventure Catholic Church.

After college, Tony worked in the family businesses—Paigo Brothers, Inc., Paigo Brothers Marina, and PK Beverages, Inc.—until 1997, when he joined the Brunswick Corporation as a purchasing agent for General Marine Products. Throughout his career, Tony held numerous managerial positions, including managing a $20 million sales division in Miramar, Florida, and Chesapeake, Virginia. He received many awards, including recognition as one of the top 1% of Brunswick employees. Following a series of leadership roles with Brunswick and Land 'N' Sea, Tony helped create a new RV sales division for Land 'N' Sea and served as National Director of RV Sales until his retirement in April 2024.

Tony was the proud father of two loving children, Anthony (Johanna) and Ryan (Angelica). He was also blessed with two grandchildren and one step-grandchild. Deeply devoted to his family, Tony will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his children, he is survived by his partner, Deb Schmidt, and his former wife, Mercy Paigo.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Pat Paigo, and his brother, Robert ("Bob") Paigo. He is survived by his siblings Tom, Joan (Julio), Judy (Mike), and Jean, as well as 10 nieces and nephews.

May Our Lord hold him in the palm of His hand.
