Angela Socarras, of Miami, Florida, passed away on Monday, August 9 ,2021 at the age of 85 after a long and healthy life. She lost the battle with lymphoma, and died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by the comfort of her family.
Angela was born on January 4 1935 in Bahia Honda, Pinar del Rio, Cuba, to Josefa Cardentey and Ireno Piña. She married Rasciel Socarras on May 8, 1954 and they had 3 children.
As a young woman she worked with Rasciel in a pharmacy in Pinar del Rio. During 1970 she and her family fled communist Cuba to start a new life in the United States.
Equipped with her strong work ethic, she worked diligently at different factory jobs to create a better life for her family.
In her later years Angela and her husband moved to Miami Beach.
Angela is survived by her two children, Martha Parra and Rasciel Socarras; her grand children Anelys Parra, Arlyn Parra, and Natalia Socarras; and her great grandchildren Audrey Ellen Mendez,Gianna Gonzalez, and Luca Gonzalez.
She was loved by all who met her and served as a guiding light to her family, ever instilling the values of love and compassion. Angela Socarras Services
