Andres Ignacio Giz, of Miami Lakes, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 93 on February 3, 2025.
Born on July 31, 1931, he was the youngest and only male among his siblings, all of whom preceded him in death.
Andres was an industrious businessman, beginning his work as a teenager at his father's ice cream company in Havana. He later opened his own cafeteria and ice cream parlor.
In 1963, he immigrated from his native Cuba to Spain, and later to Puerto Rico and the United States. Starting from scratch, he worked in an embroidery factory before re-entering the ice cream business, which he knew best. With hard work and dedication, alongside his wife, he provided for his family and pursued the American Dream, investing in real estate along the way.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his dear wife and a dedicated father to his children. He was a loving provider and a hero to his daughters.
His life was a blessing to many, and his passing has left a great void in his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, two daughters, Gladys and Grisell (and their children and grandchildren), and his son, Andres.
Gone from our sight, but forever living in the hearts of those who loved him.
