It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother
Ana Estrella, a truly one-of-a-kind spirit, who departed on July 23, 2025 at the age of 84.
Born on February 26, 1941 in Matanzas, Cuba, daughter of Marcos Antonio Lago and Pelaya Hilda Hernandez.
Ana Estrella attended El Colegio La Luz in Matanzas and grew up with her beloved cousins Carmen Avellaneda-Montoto and Mireya Avellaneda-Vitier.
She enjoyed ceramic making, flower arranging, shopping, being surprised by her grandson Marc, and all things beauty and fashion.
Ana embraced life with a passionate blend of spunk, love and determination. She will forever be remembered for her feisty spirit, wit, candidness and her love of family.
Throughout her life, Ana displayed an unwavering tenacity and a sharp mind. She was known for her firm beliefs and determination as well as her outspoken nature combined with her humor and kind demeanor. Despite her strong will, Ana possessed a remarkable capacity for love and compassion. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and her greatest joy came from spending family time, whether going fishing, playing board games, shopping with her grandson or just sitting around all together reminiscing and telling stories in the family room. She loved to laugh and we loved to laugh along with her.
Ana was preceded in death by her beloved husband Reinol Estrella and
survived by her loving daughters, Diana and Jacqui, grandchild Marc, her niece and nephews Loren, David and Danny and her son and daughter-in-law Harvey and Rachelle.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Though she may be gone, her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
